Whenever the movement of temperature-sensitive products takes place from warehouse to warehouse or warehouse to retailer, several elements along the chain must be perfectly dialed in to reduce the odds of lost product. Handling different items can be tricky, as certain products must remain cold but not freeze, while others may have to stay precisely around freezing.


In the third of our multipart series, we will continue discussing the impacts of the pandemic from a 3PL cold storage company’s vantage point. In this post, we will be covering the pandemic and safety changes in the 3PL cold storage industry.    


Close to one billion people struggle to feed their families, while farmers produce enough food to feed 10 billion people. Clearly, food distribution is the problem, and the global cold chain has the answer.

We live in a world where innovation is considered a big deal. People are always trying to come up with new inventions and new ways of doing things. So it's easy to lose track of how previous inventions and developments in technology are still helping us every day. And the food cold chain is one of those inventions which keeps food fresh all the way from the source i.e. the place where it was farmed to the destination i.e. your home. Food security and cold storage. The outbreak of COVID-19 caused distress in the food chain supply in the US. Often people went to their favorite grocery store and went back home empty-handed.
