Future Growth of Cold Storage Capacities for 2022

If the pandemic has taught us anything in the cold storage industry, it’s that cold storage is becoming more and more necessary. This is true not only for food but for the medical world as well. With room to grow at all our locations across the Midwest, Interstate Cold Storage is the only cold storage provider determined to keep up with growing capacity needs.

  • Medical Storage: The pandemic has certainly changed the way our hospitals and pharmaceutical companies are distributing medicine and supplies. Our Indiana and Ohio locations are more than capable of quickly freezing and storing supplies ready to be shipped within close timelines. With our railway access and driver access, we're prepared to ship life-saving medications by the railway car or truckload quickly.
  • Pandemic Food Storage: With the downturn in employment from the pandemic paired with more people eating at home, and a lack of raw materials, the grocery store shelves of fresh produce have been barer than we've seen since the Great Depression.  Many food corporations are turning to frozen foods due to the nutritional preservation of quickly frozen food, and many health-conscious families are choosing frozen options instead of processed shelf foods when produce is scarce. In 2021 alone, frozen foods saw an increase of over 20% in sales, proving that this industry will only grow as time goes on.
  • Growth: From small businesses to powerhouses like Walmart and Target, we're able to meet the demands of each customer. Don't let the size of the warehouse scare you, the minimum order is just one truckload! We can accommodate any requests, from just a half a truck load to thousands of pounds in our warehouses with daily freezing capacities of up to 250,000 pounds. With quick freezing in 72 hours or less and safe tempering in the same time frame, our facilities are more than capable of fulfilling customer's wishes in appropriate timelines.
